چکیده
The Cuvette Centrale is the largest tropical peatland complex in world, covering approximately 145,000 km2 across Republic of Congo and Democratic Congo. It stores ca. 30.6 Pg C, equivalent three years global carbon dioxide emissions now first trans-national Ramsar site. Despite its size importance as a store, relatively little known about key aspects ecology history, including formation, scale greenhouse gas flows, biodiversity history human activity. Here, we synthesise available knowledge on Centrale, identifying areas for further research. Finally, review potential mathematical models to assess future trajectories peatlands terms impacts resource extraction or climate change.

Traumatic events (including sexual abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse, and combat trauma) are associated with long-term physical and psychological effects. These events may influence patients’ health care experiences and engagement in preventative care. Although the term trauma-informed care (TIC) is widely used, it is not well understood how to apply this concept in daily health care practi...

The most common cause of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is atherosclerotic vascular disease. PAD because of atherosclerosis is relatively highly prevalent, affecting >200 million people worldwide, including an estimated 8 to 10 million individuals in the United States alone. Atherosclerotic PAD is typically identified in the clinical setting when patients present with claudication or critica...

We review the molecular and epidemiological characteristics of cetacean morbillivirus (CeMV) and the diagnosis and pathogenesis of associated disease, with six different strains detected in cetaceans worldwide. CeMV has caused epidemics with high mortality in odontocetes in Europe, the USA and Australia. It represents a distinct species within the Morbillivirus genus. Although most CeMV strains...
متن کاملLung, Artificial: Current Research and Future Directions
Artificial lungs are medical devices designed to take over or supplement the respiratory function of the lung: oxygenating the blood and removing carbon dioxide. They are generally classified as extracorporeal, paracorporeal, intravascular, or intrathoracic devices (Fig. 1). The artificial lungs used clinically today are extracorporeal blood oxygenators, primarily used in operations requiring c...
